About Me
George Benson - Bio
Hello, and a very warm welcome to my blog. My name is George Benson, i'm 56 years old and living in Whitehaven, which, without going to google maps you probably wouldn’t know that it’s a small town on the west coast of Cumbria, England.
My website/blog is called “happyhealthyover50.com” which I recently started following taking early retirement. This was a personal choice born out of the fact that I still regard myself as fit and healthy, and so wanted to enjoy retirement and still be able to relish the things I liked doing, while continuing to pursue a healthy lifestyle.
Although I have worked all my life within the nuclear sector, I have always (the odd slip notwithstanding) tried to keep fit and healthy and lead an active lifestyle.
Over the many years I have battled the same evils and mishaps which most people succumb to as they go through life. I have struggled with weight, metal health issues and have my fair share of battle scars which also prevented me from exercising, sometimes for months at a time.
Whatever I do, either through my career or following my passions and values, I always love doing them well, and to the best of my ability.
I love learning and striving to better myself no matter what the endeavour is I have chosen at the time. This is especially true with health, wellbeing and fitness, and as my blog will testify, I have carried out some extensive research in this field.
As I matured, I also tried to diversify my studies/research and dived into the realms of additional subjects significant to my wellbeing as I aged: heavy metal detoxing, toxins in food and water, stress management, sleep, natural healing and many more.
I want to invite you onboard and continue this journey with me. Let me share my findings with you, help in any which way I can, and hopefully, we can benefit from shared knowledge and have fun leading a happier, healthier lifestyle as we go past 50 and well beyond.
